VF 6 headlines VinFast showcase at Manila Auto Show with bold EV ownership plan

VinFast, Vietnam’s electric vehicle powerhouse, made its highly anticipated debut at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) with a bang—unveiling the VF 6 subcompact SUV and introducing a three-part strategy that directly tackles the top concerns of EV buyers in the Philippines: charging access, resale value, and financing.

VF 6: Compact Powerhouse with Big Features

The VF 6 enters the Philippine market with bold pricing—PHP 1.419 million for the Eco variant and PHP 1.610 million for the Plus. Built for city life, the subcompact SUV offers standout features including nearly 500 km of range (NEDC), advanced tech, and a class-leading 7-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.

From athletes to everyday commuters, the VF 6 impressed a wide range of show attendees. Basketball star Prince Rivero praised its acceleration and city-suited size, calling it “perfect for starter families.” Meanwhile, flight attendant Aila Panganiban noted the brand’s “affordable and stylish” design compared to other options in the local market.

The Triple Play: Charging, Resale, and Financing

VinFast’s presence at MIAS 2025 went far beyond aesthetics. The company is addressing the core EV adoption barriers in the Philippines with three major initiatives:

1. Free Public Charging Until 2027

In partnership with global network V-GREEN, VinFast will offer free charging at its public stations for the next two years. With plans for 15,000 ports in 2025 alone, the initiative is a major boost in a country with just over 900 public stations as of March 2025.

2. Buyback Program for Long-Term Peace of Mind

To reassure prospective buyers worried about resale value, VinFast is launching a buyback program that offers up to 90% of the vehicle’s original price—depending on ownership duration. This applies across all models, not just high-end offerings.

3. Flexible Financing Options with Top Banks

Through new partnerships with BDO and EastWest, VinFast aims to reduce the EV cost barrier with accessible financing terms tailored for Filipino buyers.

Expanding Footprint in the Philippines

VinFast is also rapidly building its local presence, with six distributor agreements already signed and more than 60 showrooms set to open across the country in 2025. This aggressive expansion signals the company’s serious commitment to becoming a key EV player in Southeast Asia.

Turning Curiosity into Conversion

Filipinos are warming to electric vehicles, but concerns over cost, convenience, and longevity still dominate the conversation. VinFast’s multi-pronged approach directly addresses these fears. The message is clear: owning an EV can be easy, affordable, and practical in the Philippines.

With fuel prices volatile and traffic conditions demanding nimble, low-emission transport, the VF 6 and its sibling models may just be the tipping point for Filipino consumers to make the switch to electric.
