Pepsi Brings Climate-Friendly Vending Machines to the U.S.
PepsiCo has announced a groundbreaking pilot project that will introduces “climate-friendly” vending machines in the United States.
The vending machines, which feature a new Pepsi logo along with a special green refrigerant sticker, use less energy and generate 12% less greenhouse gas emissions than current vending machines.
In the pilot program, the machines will be placed in high-consumer traffic areas in the Washington, D.C. area. In addition to their energy efficiency improvements, the new machines use carbon dioxide instead of hydrofluorocarbons, which marks the first time vending machines cooled by CO2 have been used in the United States.
