Vermosa Green Run 2025 unites over 2,500 runners and 350 dogs for fitness and sustainability

Rain and flashes of lightning could not stop the enthusiastic crowd of over 2,500 runners and 350 pet dogs who gathered at Vermosa Estates in Imus, Cavite on Sunday, June 29, for the fourth edition of the Vermosa Green Run 2025. The multi-category event continues to thrive as one of the country’s most scenic and meaningful runs.

Now in its fourth year, the run drew families, elite runners, and casual fitness enthusiasts to its signature race distances: 21K, 10K, 5K, and 3K, plus the crowd-favorite 1K Dog Run, where pets and owners enjoyed a refreshing jog along Vermosa’s lush, well-paved surroundings.

Fitness, community, and sustainability at the core

Launched in 2022 as a post-lockdown fitness movement, the Vermosa Green Run promotes health and outdoor activity alongside environmental awareness. This year, the run continues to support the Haribon Foundation’s Adopt-A-Seedling Program and expands its advocacy by backing Pawssion Project and Takbo Kabitenyo, a grassroots running group nurturing young athletic talent.

Race organizer Pinoy Fitness, led by founder Jeff Lo, was amazed by the turnout despite the rain. “Runners actually enjoy running in the rain. It’s cooler and more fun,” Lo said. “The roads in Vermosa are safe, well-paved, and perfect even in wet conditions.”

Participants were also encouraged to bring used plastic materials during registration. These were collected to be upcycled into sustainable construction materials such as benches and pathways—reinforcing the event’s commitment to green living.

A running culture fueled by purpose

Cavite native and Takbo Kabitenyo member Angel Montevirgen calls the Green Run “the most scenic run” and emphasized its value beyond competition. “It’s a lifestyle. You get motivated by the gear, the people, and the opportunity to run together again.”

Jeff Lo echoed this sentiment: “Vermosa isn’t just for the Green Run. It’s a place where anyone can run freely—day or night. The Green Run is the culmination of that experience.”

According to Chrissy Roa, Marketing and Communications Head of Ayala Land Estates, each step in the Green Run supports a bigger cause: “It’s fitness, wellness, sustainability, and community all coming together.”

As an annual convergence of purpose and performance, the Vermosa Green Run 2025 strengthens Ayala Land’s commitment to sustainability, proving that active lifestyles and social impact can go hand-in-hand.
