The Vermosa Green Run returns for its fifth edition on June 28, 2026, with organizers encouraging participants to embrace sustainable habits while promoting healthier lifestyles and environmental conservation.
Set within the sprawling Vermosa Estate in Imus, Cavite, this year’s event highlights how simple everyday actions can collectively reduce environmental impact while supporting ecosystem preservation and animal welfare.
Organizers believe runners can play an important role in protecting the planet by adopting environmentally responsible practices before, during and after race day.
Race Promotes Greener Habits
Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub General Manager Lani Tan said the event aims to inspire runners to incorporate sustainable habits into their regular training and competition routines.
Participants are encouraged to bring reusable hydration bottles or collapsible cups, properly segregate waste, dispose of trash responsibly and even pick up litter whenever possible along the race route.
“Using reusable hydration bottles or collapsible cups, properly segregating waste, picking up litter along the route or whenever possible, and using designated disposal areas are simple habits that can easily be incorporated into training and race-day routines,” Tan said.
Green Run participants can also donate used plastic bottles in exchange for a ₱100 discount on their registration fee.
The collected bottles will be recycled into eco bricks that Ayala Land plans to use as construction materials for future development projects.
Race organizers have also ensured this year’s official singlets, finisher shirts and dog bandanas are manufactured using recycled PET bottles, reinforcing the event’s commitment to reducing plastic waste.
“Wearing planet-friendly gear on race day is a shared badge of honor that shows we are actively investing in the preservation of the environment that sustains our active lifestyles,” Tan added.
More Than a Running Event
Beyond completing the race, organizers hope participants continue practicing sustainable habits long after crossing the finish line.
Tan said the ultimate goal is to inspire lasting changes in daily behavior by encouraging mindful consumption, active recycling and greater respect for public spaces and the environment.
The 2026 edition features race categories covering 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K distances, along with a 1K Dog Run designed for pet owners and animal lovers.
Green Run 2026 also supports the Haribon Foundation, Takbo Kabitenyo and Pawssion Project while receiving backing from partners including Oishi, Merrell, Pocari, Salonpas, Booster C, Fitbar, Gatsby, Milo, Apex, Topbreed, Dunsk Kuhner, Baby Boo, Chef Special, Entrée Gourmet Pet Treats, Saint Roche, The Gourmet Specialist, Zert and Wonderpaw.
Organizers hope the annual event continues reminding participants that meaningful environmental change often begins with small, consistent choices that become lifelong habits.
